Reagan Campaign ad - Oct 31, 1984
Former US President Ronald Reagan speaks easily about his quest for peace, while at the same time initating massive spending increases on military equipment and intervention world wide. Part of this boost helps explain why the Soviet economy was forced, if not compelled, to devote so much of its resources to cold war preparations and defense. It also stresses the need to look behind pleasant words and smiles and judge more by foreign policy actions and intentions than simple facades.

Interesting ad posing a clear choice to US voters - touching on the US arms race and the move into weapons for space as well as the gigantic price tag that would follow.

Ex-CIA Agent Michael Scheuer- America creates its own enemies
This is a great interview that goes beyond the hype of us versus them and gives clear warning to what mess future generations are going to have to clean up as well as the suffering being imposed on both domestic citizens and abroad by current and past US policies.

1964 LSD TEST ON BRITISH MARINES
For those who thought that only one side of the cold war was evil and carried out tests on their own people, this video provides some evidence that this is not the case. It also raises questions about what other tests were carried out and which ones may be underway today, or planned for the future, on unsuspecting people.

NEW EASTERN EUROPE JOURNAL
Recently I went to Krakow, Poland, and found this journal, New Eastern Europe, in Emprik (bookstore) by chance. The articles are short, informed, and cover a range of topics related to Eastern Europe. I found the style refreshing since the collage of articles was broad, gave me a deeper sense of what is happening in the region but without too much hi tech language that blocks many people from exploring interdisciplinary comparisons and angles.
